Sydney Morning Herald

Founded in 1831 as the Sydney Herald, the Herald is the oldest continuously published newspaper in Australia and is the most widely read masthead in the country.  It covers a wide range of topics, from local news to international events, business and finance, sports, and culture. The SMH is known for its investigative reporting and award-winning journalists. Not for Profit Organisations

The Sutherland Shire Environment Centre is an independent, not-for-profit, community organisation actively involved in a wide range of projects aimed at maintaining the natural beauty and character of our Shire, surrounding waterways and parks.  Our Centre has been working with the community since 1991 and has achieved some very significant gains for the environment in that time.

Georges Riverkeeper is one of Australia’s longest serving catchment management groups, having been in operation since 1979.  It demonstrates best practice environmental management for a liveable urban river by working with local councils to improve liveability along the Georges River.

Wolli Creek Valley is a striking inner-urban corridor of bushland.  The work of the Wolli Creek Preservation Society includes successful campaigns, transformative bushcare and educational community events.

 

St George and Sutherland Shire Leader
